Newmarket & Newbury Promising Signs All Round
Newmarket
It’s been a highly encouraging few days on the track, with our runners at Newmarket and Newbury all shaping exactly as we’d hoped.
Bourbon Blues continued his upward trajectory with an excellent third in Listed company, proving his two-year-old form has carried seamlessly into this season. He looks every inch a stakes performer going forward.
Lyrics Of Life also lost nothing in defeat, finishing second in a strong maiden behind what looks a very smart filly. She confirmed she’s well up to her mark of 94 and looks set for bigger targets.
Newbury
At Newbury, we introduced three maidens – and all three gave plenty of reasons for optimism.
Crusherman made a bold debut, setting the pace before just tiring late. He will improve significantly for the run and should take a big step forward next time.
Our homebred Cap Santa Lucia was another standout, shaping like a filly with a bright future. She looks sure to benefit from stepping up in trip and is an exciting prospect for the year ahead.
Sponsor a Mehmas colt purchased from Arqana August also made his debut, having shown plenty at home. As expected, he’ll come on considerably for the experience, but there was more than enough promise to suggest he won’t be long in making his mark.
All in all, a very positive set of performances with several runners looking primed to go very close on their next starts.
